What you actually get back for a CSV
You upload one spreadsheet with four columns per SKU — units sold (with the date range), stock on hand, supplier lead time and, optionally, carton size or minimum order quantity. The forecaster returns a table with one row per SKU:
- Latest safe order date — the calendar day after which a stockout beats the supplier, computed with the same published formula as the free calculator (today + (stock − safety stock) ÷ daily sales − lead time).
- Risk flag — SKUs whose order date falls within the next seven days float to the top, so the file opens on the decisions that cannot wait.
- Suggested order quantity — target coverage days at your sales speed, rounded to your carton size and MOQ so the number is one you can actually send to a supplier.
- Email reminders — before each SKU’s date arrives, a plain email with the SKU, the date and the suggested quantity. No dashboard-checking habit required; the whole point is that the tool remembers so you don’t.
- Run history — each upload is kept so next month you can see which forecasts were right and tighten lead times where suppliers drifted.
Why a single $29 plan?
Because the job is single-shaped. Whether you carry 40 SKUs of candles or 400 of apparel, the question is identical — “which SKUs do I need to order, by when, and how many?” — and the cost of answering it does not scale enough to justify seat tiers or usage meters. $29/mo sits where self-serve inventory tooling has settled, without the quote-request theater of enterprise planners. If a heavier tier ever exists (multi-user, multi-warehouse), it will be added without touching this one.
The free layer is not a limited demo of the paid one. Single-SKU calculators and bulk forecasting are different tools for different moments: you reach for a calculator when one product worries you, and for the forecaster when the whole catalog does. Free stays free; paid handles scale and remembering.
Pricing questions
What exactly do I get for $29/mo?
The bulk forecaster: upload a CSV with per-SKU sales velocity, current stock and supplier lead times, and get back the latest safe order date for every SKU, at-risk SKUs highlighted, suggested order quantities that respect carton sizes and minimums, plus email reminders before each order date arrives. The single-SKU calculators stay free regardless.
How does the 14-day free trial work?
When the forecaster opens, every new account starts with 14 days of full access — no credit card up front. If it does not save you from at least one “wait, when do I need to order this?” moment, walk away and keep using the free calculators. Trials that demand a card and bank on you forgetting to cancel are a pattern we dislike as customers, so we are not building one.
What is founding pricing?
The first 50 people on the waitlist lock $19/mo for as long as they stay subscribed — about 34% under the standard $29/mo. It is our thank-you for betting on the product before it opens. The count is first-come by signup time, and your position is set the moment your email lands in the list.
Is there an annual plan?
Yes — $290 per year, which works out to two months free versus paying monthly ($348/yr). Annual billing will be available at launch alongside monthly. If you join mid-cycle on monthly billing and switch to annual later, the switch simply starts a new annual term — no proration puzzles.
Why is there no buy button yet?
Because the paid piece is still in development and we refuse to sell something you cannot use today. The waitlist is the honest version of a buy button right now: it reserves founding pricing and tells us which features to prioritize (each signup carries the page it came from).
Will the free calculators stay free?
Yes — permanently, with no usage caps and no login. They are how most people discover ShelfOwl, and single-SKU math should not cost money. The paid plan exists for bulk and continuity: whole-catalog forecasts and reminders that arrive without you opening a tab.
Do you need access to my store?
No. The forecaster works from a CSV export — Shopify, Etsy, Amazon, a 3PL report or a plain spreadsheet all produce one. No OAuth, no plugin, nothing installed in your store.
Meanwhile, everything single-SKU is already live: true COGS, reorder point, latest order date and nine more.
