Privacy policy

The short version

ShelfOwl is built to know as little about you as possible. The free calculators run entirely in your browser — the numbers you type are never transmitted to our servers, logged, or stored. The only personal data we collect is an email address, and only if you choose to join the paid-plan waitlist.

What we collect

Waitlist email: if you submit the waitlist form, we store your email address, the page you submitted it from, and the submission time. We use it to notify you about the bulk forecaster launch and founding pricing. We do not sell, rent or share this list with anyone.

Calculator inputs: none. Producing a calculator result makes zero network requests — you can verify this in your browser’s developer tools. We have no record of what you calculate.

Checklist progress: interactive checklists save your ticked items in your own browser’s localStorage. That data never leaves your device, and clearing your browser storage removes it.

Server logs: our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, requested URL) to serve and protect the site. We use aggregate, non-identifying analytics to understand which pages are useful.

Cookies and tracking

The site works without accepting anything: no advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers, no social pixels. If we use privacy-respecting analytics, it measures page views in aggregate and does not build individual profiles.

Where data lives and how long

Waitlist entries are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. We keep them until the waitlist purpose is fulfilled or you ask us to remove yours, whichever comes first.

Your rights

You can ask us to show, correct or delete any data we hold about you (which, in almost every case, is at most one email address). Depending on where you live, you may have additional statutory rights (GDPR, CCPA and similar); we honor deletion and access requests regardless of jurisdiction.

Third parties

Embedded ShelfOwl calculators on other websites run the same browser-only computation and inject no trackers into the host page. Links to marketplace pricing pages (Etsy, Shopify, Amazon, TikTok, Stripe) lead to those companies’ own sites, governed by their own policies.
