Rate updates

Marketplace fees change quietly, and a calculator with a stale rate is worse than no calculator. This log records every change to the default rates in our tools — what changed, when we caught it, and where the new figure comes from. The current rates and their sources live on the sources page.

2026-07-28 — Initial rate verification (site launch)

Etsy: transaction fee 6.5%, listing fee $0.20, Etsy Payments (US) 3% + $0.25, Offsite Ads 15% standard / 12% over $10k trailing 12 months (capped at $100 per order) — verified against etsy.com/legal/fees and Etsy Help.
Shopify: Basic plan $39/mo (monthly billing, US) and 2.9% + 30¢ online card rate via Shopify Payments — verified against shopify.com/pricing.
Amazon: referral fee 15% for most categories, with Clothing & Accessories tiered 5%/10%/17% by price band — verified against sell.amazon.com/pricing. FBA fulfillment fees confirmed as size/weight-tiered; the exact rate card sits behind Seller Central, so the calculator ships an editable example value labeled “needs your check”.
TikTok Shop: US referral fee 6% standard (select categories 5%; new-seller promotion 3% for 30 days) — verified against TikTok Shop Academy (seller-us.tiktok.com).
Stripe: standard US online card rate 2.9% + 30¢ — verified against stripe.com/pricing.
