Agreement
By using shelfowl.com (the “Site”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. The Site is operated by ShelfOwl (“we”, “us”).
The free calculators
The calculators are provided free of charge, without accounts or usage limits, for personal and commercial use. They are decision-support tools, not financial, tax, accounting or legal advice. Formulas are published on the methodology page; fee-rate defaults are documented on the sources page and may lag platform changes — you are responsible for confirming rates that affect your decisions. Results depend entirely on the inputs you provide.
No warranty
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss — including lost profits, lost inventory, stockouts or overstock — arising from use of the Site or reliance on its outputs.
Embedding
You may embed ShelfOwl calculators on your own website using the iframe snippets we provide, free of charge, under one condition: the “Powered by ShelfOwl” attribution link must remain visible and unmodified. We may update or discontinue embed endpoints; we will avoid breaking existing embeds where reasonably possible.
Waitlist and future paid services
Joining the waitlist creates no payment obligation on either side. Founding pricing ($19/mo for the first 50 waitlist members) is honored when the paid service opens, for as long as the subscription remains active. Paid-service terms (billing, trial, cancellation) will be presented at signup; the 14-day trial requires no payment card.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt the Site, scrape it at abusive rates, misrepresent embedded calculators as your own product, or use the Site for unlawful purposes. We may block access that violates these terms.
Intellectual property
Site content (copy, design, the ShelfOwl name and owl mark) is ours. The underlying mathematical formulas are public knowledge and free to use anywhere — attribution appreciated, never required. Marketplace names (Etsy, Shopify, Amazon, TikTok, Stripe) are trademarks of their respective owners; ShelfOwl is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be dated here. Continued use after changes means acceptance. These terms are effective as of 2026-07-28.
